Chuck Liddell and TapouT founder Charles “Mask” Lewis to UFC Hall of Fame
Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell will be going into the UFC Hall of Fame this weekend, Dana White announced via twitter. Liddell last fought at UFC 97 in Montreal, where he was flattened by Mauricio Rua with a crushing left hand. Liddell had apparently made a verbal promise to Dana White prior to the fight, that if he lost, he would hang it up. Liddell hasn’t reneged on that promise, nor has he followed through with it. He’s apparently going to take some time off (a year or so) to heal himself up and see how he feels at that point. The Iceman will be the Oldman by that time, as he’ll be 40 by then.
The second guy announced, Charles “Mask” Lewis, is the co-founder of TapouT clothing, one of the few sponsors not to be banned by the UFC. Lewis tragically lost his life a few months back in a car accident.
Two guys named Charles going in the Hall of Fame at the same time? Can’t beat that!
